Whether it be through their private pool villas or apart hotels, Bodrum Travel aim to cater for all budgets.
To give you an insightful look into the vacation rental industry, we caught up with Bodrum Travel’s General Coordinator, Fahrettin Çetin. Read on to find out what he had to say!
1. When did you start out in the vacation rental industry and what does your company do?
We have started 10 years ago with villa and apartment vacation rentals. In fact we were the first who offered such a service at the Bodrum Peninsula.
Our major business is still villa and apartment vacation rentals. 10 % of our business are general travel agency services (ticket sales, airport transfer, daily tours, car rentals etc.)
2. What attracted you most to becoming a vacation rental manager?
We have started this business when we used to do Site Management of large villa/apartment complexes, where the properties were mostly owned by foreign citizens. We then found out that there are many requests about renting out the properties in the name of the owners. That’s why we started this business.
3. What has been your greatest challenge?
Our greatest challenge was to run Site Management and Property Vacation Rentals together. We decided a couple of years ago to not do Site Management anymore but to concentrate on Property Management and Property Vacation Rentals only.
4. How has Kigo helped your vacation rental business?
It makes life very easy because we can add all our homes under the names of the owners itself. The Channel Manager, Email notifications etc. works very well and we don’t have to do it manually anymore.
5. What do you hope to happen in the vacation rental industry in the next 5 years?
As far as vacation rental of villas/apartments in Turkey is concerned, this is still a grey zone without any major regulations and laws. There are very serious attempts of the Turkish Travel Agency Association to have the government to apply very strict laws about who can do such kind of rentals. We as company itself are preparing us to fulfil all kind of regulations now already, to become a major player for vacation rentals at the Bodrum Peninsula.
