Learn more about Tania.

Tell us about your background!

My name is Tania. I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil but started my globetrotting very young. Due to my dad's job I was lucky enough to live in 5 different cities, in 4 different countries, on 2 different continents and spoke 4 languages by the age of 15 when I first got to Spain and fell in love with this culture and country. I could say that the people here and the way of living remind me in some ways of Brazil and this is what kept me here. I try to go back home at least once a year to visit my family and friends.

I studied film in Uni, and I worked on several movies as a producer. My last project, a short movie in 35mm, got chosen to participate in Cannes Festival and won several prices in different festivals in Brazil.

I recently discovered paddle surfing which brought me some balance and equilibrium to the fast-paced life and era we are living in right now.

Back in Barcelona, I live with my husband and our two cats who keep us very busy and entertained.

What is your role at Kigo? What do you love about it?

I work in the support team as a Support Expert agent. What I like most about my job is the combination of problem solving, communication with internal and external customers but above all helping people.

What do you look for in a vacation rental? What do you avoid?

Before I travel, I usually go online and search for nice vacation homes or hotels on Booking.com and/or Airbnb. Everything I wouldn't typically have in daily life back home is usually what I look for, including simple things like a swimming pool and being closer to the beach. Living in a city like Barcelona, you will not easily find a place which is affordable with those amenities.

I avoid crowded places. When I go away I want to relax and enjoy the time with the people I go with.

How can property owners make their vacation rentals more appealing to travelers like yourself?

Working with property managers and seeing loads of different pictures of their properties makes you become picky. I would suggest having professional pictures taken, having an eye for details and letting the guest know that you love what you do.

As we continue to explore the Faces of Kigo, you will meet more members of our global team working every day to create the best products in travel. Stay tuned!
