Tell us about yourself!

I’m Daniel Hidalgo Bartolomé. I’m a computer guy. I decided I should work as a computer guy when I was twelve, many, many years ago. I guess I’ve been very lucky to make that decision when I was so young.  Working with computers was the future then, and now it has become my present and I love my job.

Outside of work, my main hobby is reading, especially novels. I’m a board or role games player, as well.

What is your role at Kigo?

As a software analyst, I help customers with their integrations of our products: APIs, payment gateways or integrations with our partners, for example. I love my job because it’s varied, it’s fun, and I’m in contact with people from many different parts of the world which gives me the chance to learn new things.

What do you look for in a vacation rental?

Below are my top requirements:

  • Availability- I’m not flexible on my holiday dates.
  • Central location- I move by foot, so I need a place that is close to the sites I want to visit.
  • Price- I don’t mind to pay something extra, and money is important. I’m looking for places where I’ll barely stay, so I don’t need something very luxury.

I typically avoid places that are far from the sites I want to visit. When looking for a vacation rental, I’ll ask people for recommendations on places to stay. And I use this big source of information called the Internet.

How can property owners make their vacation rentals more appealing to travellers like yourself?

Properties can set themselves apart by including a transportation service that allows guests to easily reach the most interesting visiting points in the area.

As we continue to explore the Faces of Kigo, you will meet more members of our global team working every day to create the best products in travel. Stay tuned!
