The Rio 2016 Olympics commanded global attention and impacted a range of industries outside of athletics. For the vacation rental industry in Brazil, the Olympic games presented an important opportunity to put business leaders on the map for an international audience. How has your property management company been impacted by the 2016 Olympics in Rio?

Qual foi o impacto das olimpíadas?

The Olympics had a great impact on our business. We had the opportunity to meet new clients, form partnerships and, of course, capitalize on a one-time opportunity. However, in our opinion, the best takeaway from the Olympics is the fact that it placed "Vacation Rentals" in evidence in Brazil. This market is still very shy of its full capacity in our country, and events like these greatly speed up the growth process for this market.

O impacto das Olimpíadas foi ótimo. Tivemos a oportunidade de conhecer novos clientes, fazer novas parcerias e claro, capitalizar nesta oportunidade única. Porem, em nossa opinião, o melhor legado da Olimpíadas é o fato que colocou o mercado de aluguel de temporada em evidencia no Brasil. Esse mercado ainda está muito tímido e aquém de toda sua capacidade no nosso pais, eventos como esse aceleram bastante o crescimento do mercado.

What actions did you take in preparation for the Olympics?

Houveram preparações especiais para esse evento?

We started preparing for the Olympics about a year and a half in advance. A key element of this process included focusing on corporate clients. We also increased our staff.

Começamos a trabalhar para as Olimpíadas com um ano e meio de antecedência. Outro elemento chave foi focar em clientes corporativos. Também crescemos nosso staff.

That takes considerable time and effort from our staff, but the results and feedback are certainly gratifying and rewarding.
